I, Amelia Davies, investigate the chemistry of fossil shells. We will use a new “chemical thermometer” to work out the temperature at which the shells grew focusing on times in Earth’s history the amount of CO2 in earth’s atmosphere was both higher and lower than it is today. This will help us to better understand how our planets’ temperature changes when the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is increased.
