“Science Garden”
Summer evenings with climate researchers from the VeWA project
(the talks will be given in German)

15.06.2023, 29.06.2023, 13.07.2023   | 18:00 – approx. 20:00 h

How does reliable climate knowledge emerge? How do natural scientists explore the climate of the past and how does that help to better understand our climate future? What is possible so far and what are the limits of current research?

Climate researchers from the VeWA research consortium will answer these questions in this small lecture series. And this not only in the lectures (approx. 1 hour), but also in personal discussions. After the lectures, the speakers as well as other scientists from the research project will be available in the garden of BiK F for personal interactions, questions, discussions or suggestions over a summer drink.
Just drop by! We look forward to an exciting exchange!

How do natural scientists research the climate of the past? And how does this knowledge help us to better understand our climate future? These are the questions addressed in the new special exhibition “Understanding Climate – Lessons from the Past”.
The exhibition uses the example of paleoclimate research, that is, research on the climate of the past, to show how science works. It shows the faces and the objects behind the research and accompanies the scientists of Goethe University Frankfurt and the “Senckenberg Gesellschaft für Naturforschung” on their journey into the Earth’s past.
Here, curators Lisa Voigt and Dr. Andrea Weidt guide visitors through the exhibition and also report on how the research came to the museum, which processes and approaches played a role in the planning process of the exhibition – and what their personal highlights were.

No registration is required.
Participation in the event is free of charge – apart from the museum admission.

„Science Live“ – Liveschaltung zur Klimaforschung auf hoher See

Webinar with Dr. Julia Brugger (This event is only available in German)
