My name is Julia Brugger and I am a climate physicist. In my research I look into the past to better understand processes in the Earth system. In particular, I am interested in the interaction of climate and vegetation in past warm periods to get a better idea of how the Earth system and thus our habitat will change in the near and more distant future. To do so, I use simulations calculated with climate and vegetation computer models. In cooperation with the other project members we try to find out how well these model results represent reality by comparison with their climate reconstructions from sediments.
